This 8-day birding safari takes you to three of Tanzania’s most unique bird habitats—Lake Manyara, Lake Natron, and Lake Eyasi. These lakes are part of the Great Rift Valley and are known for their rich birdlife and beautiful landscapes. You’ll spot everything from flamingos and pelicans to raptors, storks, and many rare species. This safari also includes cultural visits with local communities to give you a deeper connection with the region.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Meet and greet at Kilimanjaro Airport. Transfer to your lodge in Arusha. Depending on time, enjoy light birding around the lodge.

Day 2: Arusha National Park Birding
Spend a full day in Arusha National Park, a great place to spot forest species like turacos, bee-eaters, and hornbills.

Day 3: Arusha – Lake Manyara
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Explore the lake and forest zones for flamingos, pelicans, fish eagles, and more.

Day 4: Lake Manyara – Tarangire National Park
Head to Tarangire, known for its baobab trees and bird-rich river ecosystem. Look for hornbills, lovebirds, and many raptors.

Day 5: Full Day in Tarangire
Continue birding and wildlife viewing in Tarangire. The park is home to over 500 bird species.

Day 6: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
Drive to the Serengeti with birding along the way. In the afternoon, look for ostriches, secretary birds, and various ground birds.

Day 7: Full Day in Serengeti
Explore different parts of the park. Spot both large mammals and open-plains birds like bustards, lapwings, and larks.

Day 8: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
Early game drive as you leave Serengeti. In the afternoon, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater to look for crowned cranes, storks, and herons.

Day 9: Ngorongoro – Lake Eyasi
Drive to Lake Eyasi, a bird-rich alkaline lake. Spot flamingos and shorebirds. In the afternoon, visit the Hadzabe tribe.

Day 10: Lake Eyasi – Arusha / Departure
Early birding around Lake Eyasi. After breakfast, return to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
