From the vast plains of the Serengeti to the lush highlands of Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll spot a variety of bird species, including raptors, storks, hornbills, and many others. This safari is designed for bird lovers who also want to enjoy a mix of big game viewing and cultural experiences.
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Arrive in Arusha, where your guide will meet you and take you to your hotel. If time allows, enjoy a brief birding walk around the city or nearby areas.

Day 2: Arusha – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, drive to the Serengeti. The park is home to a diverse range of birdlife, including vultures, secretary birds, and many species of raptors. You’ll also spot migratory birds, such as the red-necked falcon, during the right season.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti
A full day in the Serengeti for birdwatching and wildlife viewing. Visit different habitats, from the open plains to riverine areas, to find a variety of birds like ostriches, eagles, and hornbills. Look out for large animals like lions and giraffes too.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, home to a variety of bird species including crowned cranes, flamingos, and the endangered violet-backed starling. The crater also offers a chance to see large game, including elephants, rhinos, and lions.
Overnight near the crater.
Day 5: Full Day in Ngorongoro Crater
Spend the day in Ngorongoro Crater, where you can birdwatch in different habitats from forest to grassland. Keep an eye out for large flocks of flamingos, herons, and ibis, as well as the famous ground hornbill.

Day 6: Ngorongoro – Lake Eyasi
After breakfast, drive to Lake Eyasi, known for its cultural experiences and birdlife. Explore the lake’s wetlands and surrounding area to spot waterbirds like ducks, flamingos, and cormorants. You may also visit the local Hadzabe community for a cultural experience.
Overnight at Lake Eyasi.
Day 7: Lake Eyasi – Arusha
After a relaxed breakfast, drive back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, depending on your travel plans.
